Wellbeing Support Services

Mental health is just like physical health, everybody has it, and it’s important to take care of it. We know that children and young people face a lot of challenges and it can be difficult to cope with everything life throws at you. Feeling down some of the time is normal, but if you want to talk to someone about your thoughts or feelings, there are plenty of routes you can take. Below are support and advice services for whatever it is you’re going through.

Kooth

Kooth is a free, safe and anonymous mental wellbeing service. Read their latest data release (August 2020) to highlight the impact of COVID-19 on young people’s mental health.

Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service

Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service have some fantastic resources on how to cope during COVID-19 if you’ve experienced trauma, including videos on practicing mindfulness, as well as tips on looking after yourself to mark the 3rd anniversary of the disaster.

Young Minds

Young Minds have produced this comprehensive guide on their blog and tips on looking after your mental health while self-isolating.

Childline

Childline is a free and confidential helpline that anyone under 19 can contact to talk about any issues or worries they have, big or small.

Shout

Shout is a free and anonymous texting service for young people going through a personal crisis. It can provide immediate help, anytime, anywhere.

Mind

Mental health charity, Mind, has compiled this support page.

Insight

Drug and alcohol support service, Insight, is still talking with young people, providing support, help, advice and accepting referrals – contact them now.

RBKC Family Information Service

Kensington & Chelsea Family Information Service have resources and information that may be useful to families and those working with children and young people specifically during the pandemic.

Rbkc RBKC Health and Wellbeing leaflet

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) have produced a health and wellbeing leaflet to make it easier for people living in the borough to access useful information and support over the winter months. It includes information about staying well this winter, where to get your vaccines and details of the support and advice that is available if you’re struggling with the cost of living. 

We Got U, U Got This

City of Westminster has a number of resources to support for young people in Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea.

CAMHS

CAMHS are the NHS services that help young people struggling with their mental health. Your GP or a school professional can refer you for a face-to-face appointment.

The Mix

The Mix has a free, confidential phone line, webchat and crisis text line, to help refer young people to the best possible help, whatever problem they are facing.

Samaritans

Samaritans is a free, confidential helpline that offers a safe space to talk about anything. They won’t judge, or tell you what to do, they just listen.

On My Mind

On My Mind offers free online resources to empower young people aged 10-25 to make informed decisions about their mental health. They provide information on your rights, self-care, how to help a friend, and jargon busting.

SANELine

SANELine offers confidential one-to-one support for those aged over 16, for when your own mental health, or that of someone you know, is affecting you.

Their service directories let you find, choose and compare health, support and social care services in England. They also publish reviews and ratings across health and social care services.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC)

The CQC is the independent regulator of health and adult care services in England. You can find out the CQC rating for a service by going to their website.

My Health London

Find NHS services in London using My Health London, where you can search for services by type, postcode or location.


People First

People First provides information and resources about the private, voluntary and public sector across Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, and Westminster.

Healthier North West London

Healthier North West London is the collaboration of Clinical Commissioning Groups in North West London, who work together to improve services they buy across eight boroughs. On their website, you can find information on local services, advice on managing your health, and their vision for better care in North West London.

Road to Wellbeing map

The Road to Wellbeing map provides a list of activities and services that support the 5 ways to wellbeing and reducing social isolation, across Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, and Westminster.

Counselling Directory

Counselling Directory is a nationwide database of qualified counsellors and psychotherapists. They also have information of different types of therapy, common mental health issues, frequently asked questions, and more.
